Tewell starts where he finished

Doug Tewell emphasised that Callaway big bertha irons his win last week at the Ping i15 irons PGA Seniors Championship was no fluke. Tewell started the first round of the Las Vegas Senior Classic with a 7-under 65 to share the lead with Bob Murphy at the TPC of Summerlin.

"I got up this Golf Wholesale Store morning and wondered what it was going to be like,'' said Tewell, "Coming off a victory like that, I was really concerned about my intensity. I tried to block out all the accolades from the players around me and really get focused on this tournament.

"I did a fairly good job of that Titleist ap2 710 forged irons and Titleist ap2 irons. I guess I was pleased a lot of guys weren't coming up to me today. But I got out there and I got focused and I played well.''
